Project B: Economic incubation

We have announced a program director for this program. With his help we are currently actively developing the program. We have already received few proposals. We are going to arrange a business incubation workshop this spring. We are expecting to sponsor few projects and start the business activities after the seminar

Project C: Legacy projects in Bangladesh:

In this field we are currently focusing to sponsoring few schools those are financially facing hardship and are experiencing student and teacher shortage. With a guideline to improve the students academic grades we promised financial and technical help.
On our recent visit to Bangladesh we had a productive meeting with the governing council of such a school in Jessore.
This school ‘Muslim Academy’ was established in 1946 when Jessore had only two high schools. This safety net school provided students with limited resources. This school have produced few nationally well known alumni in the past.
Without sufficient funding this school is currently suffering both student and teacher shortages. We were told that this school is primarily serving to the economically disadvantaged students. Students are primarily from very poor families. Often the students are dropping out due to inability to pay the tuition fees. The teachers told us of horror situations when the students came to school starving and without proper clothings.
Our initial proposals
1. Providing scholarships to five students in each class. Two for academic grade and three for economic based.
2. Once a year two sets of school uniform to each students.
3. We are in the process of Selecting few teachers for giving after school coaching to few promising students. In exchange the teachers will be compensated not to do any privets coaching. This program will continue on the students grade.
4. Identify few poor students and help their parents with a passenger Rickshaw or van rickshaw to incentivize them to keep their children in the school.
5. We promised to do more help if the students grade improves including scholarship to committed teachers to have training in teaching in USA. Building a new school building and a auditorium will depends on academic improvement and on securing fundings.
We are also thinking to provide free breakfast and lunch to all the students provided we can arrange more funding.
We talk to several people in Bangladesh for financial help and so far the response is very encouraging.
Muslim Academy in Jessore is our pilot project. We hope to do similar projects in other part of the country once we are successful in converting this school into a academic success story.

Project D: Rural charitable medical clinics:

An architectural firm is preparing a plan for the clinics. Two models will be selected. The final cost will be depending on the donation vs purchase of the land, Building coast and an ongoing running budget. An endowment fund should be in place to provide the running budget.
A construction firm has agreed to supervise the construction. We may seek local tender for the construction of the building.
Once the final plan is prepared we will be able to offer to build the medical center with a final price tag. We are expecting few expatriates or their children to take the advantage to build a health center in their own village with their family name.
Our other announced project of health care coverage to needy people is going to depends on government regulations, NGO licensing and enough funding. We are hopeful that we will be able to start a pilot projects very soon.
